Ok friends, sorry for the super long absence.  Life has been pretty crazy around here, with school, work, an internship, plus trying to sleep and eat sometimes.  Anyway, what better way to get back into the swing of things than by introducing the newest member of our family?!

This is our sweet new pup, Anoki!  He is a three year old Bernese Mountain Dog we rescued through the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies.  We thought about getting a puppy, but decided we would like to rescue if we could.  I submitted an application, and the very next day, they called to let us know they had a dog for us to meet.  We met Anoki, and we fell in love. Obviously.  How could you not?

Also, he’s bigger than me.

Ha!

Sorry for my super long absence!  The holidays are always crazy, and between work and school and family time, just I just haven’t had the time to post anything!  Today, I want to talk about some SUPER exciting news!

My best friend is getting MARRIEDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!

Mica and Matt (who happens to be Jason’s best friend) got engaged right after Thanksgiving.  He visited her in New York, took her ice skating at Rockefeller Center (ugh! I DIE!) and popped the question!

So cute right??

“Oh my gosh!  She’s getting married!!!”

I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. Seriously.

We’ve gotten some snow here the past couple of days, which got me thinking about our honeymoon on Kaua’i.  Right about now, I’m wishing I were lying on the beach with a cocktail in hand. :)

:)

So unbelievably gorgeous!

A little flipper love!

For real.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh…

Two favorite things today: Fall and alliteration.  I really love Fall.  I love when it finally starts to cool off.  I love that smell of dead leaves.  I especially love fall food.  There is nothing better than a nice warm meal on a fall evening.  Tonight, I made chicken noodle soup from scratch (Jason’s request!), and it was delish. :)  Comfort food for sure. :)

Yeaaahhhhh…looks good.

Also, reason # 9089275683490572934523496798273498374 why I love my husband: at the grocery story tonight, buying supplies for that tastiness, I bought the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Collector’s Edition” of People Magazine, and he didn’t even judge me.  Not even a little.

OK.  Today I want to talk about Pinterest.  HOW did I not know about this before???  A friend introduced me today, and now I CAN. NOT. STOP.  Seriously.  What an awesome way to organize all the things that inspire you in one place!  It’s basically a bulletin board of love.  You just pin all the things that interest you on different boards, organized in whatever way you want.  I am SERIOUSLY obsessed.  Go there. NOW.  You will thank me. :)

Here’s something I stumbled upon the other day that I absolutely love!  In all the years I have studied art and art history and art theory, one thing I’ve always found amusing is how seriously art can sometimes take itself.  Obviously, I love art.  It is truly one of the things I love most in the world.  But sometimes it’s just so stuffy.  Which is why I love these so much. They take serious art and play with it.  They’re so intelligent, and so funny.

This one’s my favorite (‘cause you know I love my Spanish art!):

Right? Right?!

I have been married for 34 days.  People keep asking me, “How’s married life?”.  Well, it’s pretty awesome.  But more importantly, it’s not that different.  I’m still me.  Jason is still Jason.  We’re still us.  We still make fun of each other, we still laugh together.  Our house is still a mess.  My last name is different, but that’s about it.  I’m still not quite used to saying “husband” and being called “wife”.  But other than that…

I mean, I was pretty happy with how things were before, which is why I decided getting married might be a good idea in the first place, right?  The whole time we were engaged, I kept thinking, “I hope this doesn’t change things”.  And it hasn’t, so far.  And that’s a good thing.
